Winter Skin Care – Protecting Your Skin Against The Cold Weather

It is a common fact that excessive exposure to sunlight can be harmful to the skin. However, cold weather can take its toll on your skin, too, especially if you have sensitive or dry skin. Lower external temperatures, windy and the fact is raising the thermostat in your house may make your skin chapped, flaky, spots, dryness and itching. During the summer, are more likely to care for our skin because of the constant need relief now, as sunscreen and insect repellent. However, winter is the time when our skin really needs the attention of most of the extras. To help your skin to survive the brutality of the season, consider the following simple tips for winter skin care: 1. Continue using a sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher. Even if you do not feel well, the sun can be as powerful when reflecting on the snow or while taking a long walk outdoors as it is on a summer day at the beach. One suggestion is convenient to use a moisturizer or foundation with a built-in sun all day. 2. Use a mild cleanser instead of soap, which can strip skin of essential oils you need. 3. Although you may not be as thirsty as during the summer, continue to drink plenty of water to provide necessary hydration for the skin. 4. Avoid products with high alcohol content, heavy perfumes or other additives that can irritate sensitive skin dry. 5. During cold weather, may try to use thicker, richer moisturizer, two to three times a day to help the skin to adequately replenish the moisture lost. 6. Gently exfoliate the skin to remove dead skin cells that can form surface due to excessive dryness. 7. Remember that your lips are also part of the facial skin so soft use a lip balm or moisturizing lipstick, preferably with a sunscreen. 8. Try to keep an anti-itch cream on hand to apply to excessively dry patches that occur despite taking the above suggestions, so you can moisturize these tender areas to avoid scratching and prevent infection. Taking a few precautions common sense winter skin care, you can be as happy and beautiful in winter as they are during the summer.
