How can you tell if your skin is talking to you? Would you know if you have been ignoring it? The way I see it, to know if your skin is talking to you, is simple. Look at it, see if you notice any symptoms such as acne, flakiness, chapping, brown spots, redness… I think you get the picture. Our skin talks to us, by exhibiting symptoms to tell us something is wrong. When we begin to see symptoms it is time to take action, this is what I refer to “listening” to our skin.
There are many actions you can take, but the one we tend to overlook is investigating the skin care products you use.
*acne,pimples

*oily skin

*dry skin

*brown spots, discoloration of the skin

*blackheads

*dull skin

*red, blotchy skin

Did you ever consider maybe the symptoms listed above are all caused by the skin care products you use on your skin everyday?
Well folks…….they are.
You may need to start listening to your skin, it may be talking to you…and you may be ignoring it. Your skin knows what it needs and you may need to start taking the actions to give it what it wants. Stop ignoring your skin and start listening to it. You will be very happy you did. Consider a change and try something different.

Nowadays, finding the right skin care products can be a bit overwhelming. There are thousands of brands and types to choose from. And lets not forget preferences. Should you buy scented or unscented?

The white cream or the pink cream? Mineral oil sounds like a natural, healthy substance, right? Unfortunately, traits such as color, scent, and supposed earthy ingredients are actually red flags. Products that try to entice you with these characteristics often have harmful ingredients in them that can cause considerable damage to your skin, both short and long term.

Its best to avoid skin care products that depend on their appearance or their advertising to seem beneficial. Why trust a pretty models face, when chances are she doesnt use the product shes endorsing at all? Instead, rely on science and evidence. Buy all natural skin care products with ingredients clinically proven to help keep your skin healthier, smoother, and firmer.

Before we get to that, however, allow me to tell you a little about some ingredients you should try your hardest to avoid.

Acrylamide is a harmful substance found commonly in hand and face creams. That its so abundant absolutely baffles me. Despite several studies that prove acrylamide causes breast tumors, this ingredient is still widely used.

Mineral oil, a loathsome ingredient that disguises itself under other names, such as liquid paraffin, paraffin wax, and peterolatum. Companies that use this ingredients claim that its an effective moisturizer, when in fact it throws off your skins balance of natural oils. Not only does it clog pores and cause inflammation and acne breakouts, but it also makes it more difficult for your skin to expel toxins. Why do big brands insist on using this awful stuff?

The answer is simple: Its a cheap alternative to more expensive, natural ingredients.

Parabens are one of the most dangerous ingredients Ive encountered. Unfortunately, its also very widely used. Parabens are so popular among big brand names because theyre effective preservatives. This gives their products a longer shelf life, which means they can sell more. Unforunately, not only is this substance proven to cause allergic reactions, but it also causes cancer. That many companies use this as a cheap way to make more money absolutely sickens me. Avoid products with parabens at all costs.

These are only a few harmful substances you should look out for. Dyes, fragrances, and other harsh chemicals can also be destructive toward your skin. To learn about these and more, you can visit my website.

For now, however, Id like to focus more on what ingredients you should actually look for.
The kind of skin care products that I use daily are scientifically proven to boost levels of collagen and elastin in your body. Collagen and elastin are two crucial skin proteins that help keep your skin firm, smooth, and evenly toned when you were younger. As we all age, the levels of collagen and elastin in our bodies start to decrease, which is what causes wrinkles, sagging, age spots, puffiness, and other aging signs.

Cynergy TK is an all natural ingredient commonly used in specialty skin care products. Native to New Zealand, it is abundant in keratin, a compound that is very useful in the essential makeup of skin proteins. This substance hydrates the skin and helps the skin retain more moisture. It also stimulates skin protein growth, which results in significant reduction of wrinkles and sagging.

Another incredibly useful ingredient is phytessence wakame, a substance derived from a unique species of Japanese sea kelp. Not only does this amazing stuff fight inflammation and protect against sunburns, but its also rich in hyaluronic acid, a substance that pairs up well with collagen and elastin.

When you choose your anti aging skin care products do you make it a practice to see what are actually in them? Most people dont and which is why their skin condition gets bad to worse.

It is the marketing strategy of most of these items which actually get innocent customers fooled about what is the actual reality beneath the surface.

If you find that your cream has mineral oil content, you need to know that this is very harmful. This is because mineral oil closes all the pores in your skin not allowing it to breath.

Your skin cells are completely choked and the toxins from your body do not get released out. This is what flares up and results in acne and other skin disorders. If you find paraffin wax, liquid paraffin, petroleum etc on your product it actually refers to a mineral oil.

Another harmful product that is used is Dioxane which your skin absorbs very easily. Did you know this causes cancer? The prospect is scary but we customers are being fooled completely.

Another mistake that most people make while selecting anti aging skin care products is that they opt for fragrant versions. Well the smell does not cause the harm. However, the ingredients that are added to it to bring that sort of smell are poisonous or carcinogenic.

You also need to keep away from parabens like methyl, propyl, butyl and ethyl varieties. These are added to most skin care creams because they tend to increase the products longevity and shelf life. But, in reality these are again cancerous and can cause several allergies to your skin.

Alcohols also need to be completely prohibited because they cause your skin a lot of irritation and get it so dry and makes it an easy target for bacteria, moulds, viruses etc.

Make sure you stay away from these and look for natural ingredients like Phytessence Wakame, Cynergy TK and CoQ10 which will actually produce collagen and Elastin in your skin giving you the most beautiful skin with vitality and energy.

Your skin is a very clever organ. No matter which in the arsenal of developments in anti aging skin care products are proudly emblazoned on the bottle and in the marketing literature, your skin knows the truth. And whilst it may play the game for a little while, plumping up nicely to give the appearance of looking younger, more even, and less lined, this is only a temporary, somewhat cosmetic ruse. It is actually a biological trick of the light, a chimeraic nod to the quest for youth. Dont be fooled.
Skin care is big business. And theres nothing wrong with that. But whilst its highly entertaining to browse through the shelves and try out the latest pedigree of skin cream, these foot soldiers in the war on wrinkles meet a somewhat tenacious and uncooperative foe in our skin.
Our skin. This multi-layered emissary to the outside world, bearer of our expressions, our joys, our grief. Guard against the invisible tide of micro-organisms that seek to infiltrate our bodys first defence against disease and infection. This complex array of cells that every month regenerate and shed, within the constraints of age and the quality of our diet. Our skin is a hard worker and much unappreciated. Often barely nourished despite the money spent on technological promises, we still hope the dream of youth slipping away will be restored.
There is a way to slow the process of aging. But not by applying high tech anti aging creams. By understanding exactly what our skin is, we can find better ways of giving it what it needs. And consequently, we will find ourselves with what we want – more youthful skin.
Our skin is composed of 3 main layers. The outside layer that we apply our anti aging skin care products to is the epidermis. This in turn has 4 to 5 layers, depending on where it is in the body, and whether there is a lot of hair on it. The top layer of the epidermis, the stratum corneum, serves as a barrier. This is where the cells are continually shedding and where new cells are ultimately pushed up to. These cells have no blood supply, and hence no nutrients or oxygen carried in the blood reach these cells. They are essentially dead in that they cannot engage in the metabolic processes that living cells do. But they do serve very important functions. By creating an impenetrable barrier, they keep out bacteria and other micro organisms, and are thus part of the immune system. But this very function also serves to keep out most of the expensive ingredients in anti aging treatments. And no matter how well an ingredient performs in a laboratory test tube, that does not necessarily translate to reaching the deeper layers of your skin, where the real anti aging work takes place. Most skin care products work only on the stratum corneum, and that is their downfall as anti aging secret agents.
The next layer down from the top is the dermis. This is the layer where wrinkles develop. The dermis consists of living cells, and they are responsible for the structure, integrity and elasticity of the skin. Here collagen is regenerated whilst existing collagen is broken down in the monthly cellular cycle. The production of collagen slows with age and factors like smoking, sun exposure, stress and inadequate nutrition. Other skin nutrients like elastin and hyaluronic acid are found here. Hyaluronic acid for example, helps hold water. As the dermis is composed of living cells, it has a blood supply, which transport nutrients and oxygen to the cells. These capillaries also transport cellular wast like carbon dioxide away. Here youll also find lymph vessels, sebaceous and sweat glands, hair follicles, and nerve endings for heat and cold.
Fibers from the dermis extend down and into the next main layer, the subcutaneous layer. They anchor the skin to it. The subcutaneous layer in turn attaches to organs like bone and muscles underneath. Here are nerve endings that are sensitive to pressure, blood, lymph vessels, fat cells, collagen and elastin. The subcutaneous layer thins as we age, which creates a more angular appearance.
Moisturizers achieve their temporary effect by trapping water already in the skin. They essentially act as a seal, they do not provide additional water or moisture. The few products that actually work on the deeper layers of the skin are the Retin-A skin care treatments. Vitamin C, though popular, has not conclusively demonstrated that it can reach the deeper layers, the dermis. And even if it did, there is not enough evidence that it actually does anything there.
But the news is not all bad. We can do something, and its not rocket science. If we supply the skin with the nutrients it needs, with good, fresh fruit and vegetables, and good quality fats and protein, or even supplements as a boost. Then, and only then, will we stall the clock at a more agreeable hour.

Do you look older than you actually are? Do you want to attract the attention of a younger woman, but are worried of the puffy eye bags that make you look much older? Is you skin dry and rough? The right men skin care products are what you need to salvage yourself out of this situation.

And this article will show you exactly how to find them. After reading this article, you will easily figure it out how to re-achieve the young, attractive and healthy skin that you had in your youth days.

There are many ways in which the skin of a man is different from that of a woman -

1) Firstly, their skin has a tendency to become swollen and red more frequently and easily. Skin inflammation is more common in men than in women.

2) Secondly, men are also more easily prone to dark circles and puffy bags beneath the eyes. This is because they produce more prostaglandin E2. Thus, when you look for men skin care products, look out for such natural ingredients that specifically cater to these two issues.

Cynergy TK is a natural ingredient that has been pioneered in New Zealand. It is very effective for its role in natural skin rejuvenation and anti aging. It blocks the production of Prostaglandin E2.

The unique role that it plays in anti aging is that it enhances the natural production of the two vital skin proteins called collagen and elastin in our body. These are the two youth giving proteins that give us a firm, supple, pliant and elastic skin.

As we age, the production of these proteins slows down in our body, which causes wrinkles, fine lines, saggy skin and age spots. So, a higher natural production of collagen and elastin gives us permanent freedom from all signs of skin aging – it prevents further skin aging and also reverses all effects of aging that have already taken place.

Although, the skin composition of men and women differ in some ways, they also consist of a lot of similarities. Like -

1) They are both affected similarly by harmful chemicals found in skin care products. A lot of hazardous chemical substances such as alcohols, parabens, dioxanes, mineral oils and fragrances are used a lot in men skin care products.

These cause widespread harm to skin and overall health in the form of skin allergies, irritation, redness, itching and inflammation. Parabens cause skin cancer! Fragrances cause anxiety, depression, hormonal disturbances and disruptions in functioning of central nervous system.

Alcohols cause excessive skin dryness and photo sensitivity. Mineral oils cause acne eruptions, allergies and destroy the natural moisture balance of the skin. You should avoid these chemicals in all natural skin products that you purchase.

2) Another important similarity in the skin types of both men and women is that they both need vital nutrients like vitamins, minerals, calcium and antioxidants. This helps the skin to remain healthy and vibrant. It becomes capable to repair broken cells, sustain its normal functions and counter the damage caused by free radical damage.

An amazing natural ingredient in this regard is Phytessence Wakame. It is an extract of a special type of Japanese sea kelp. It is one of the best kept anti aging and skin rejuvenation secrets of Japan. It is rich in minerals, vitamins, antioxidants and calcium (its calcium content is 15 times greater than milk).

It does an amazing job in improving skin moisture retention and elasticity. It is also eaten as a food by the Japanese people. It helps in maintaining the balance of hyaluronic acid in the body and preserve youth and vitality. It gives creamy, smooth and radiant skin naturally.

Visit my website to find out more of such amazing natural ingredients that you should look out for in the best men skin care products. This would help you achieve a young, attractive and naturally glowing skin and make you much more interesting for the opposite sex.

Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that is tremendously effective against preventing and treating aging signs such as wrinkles, fine lines and sun damage. In fact, L-ascorbic acid, a popular form of Vitamin C stimulates collagen production within the skin cells, corrects pigmentation issues and reduces the damage caused by free radicals.Advantages of Vitamin CThere is perhaps no one skin care ingredient that provides so many advantages as does Vitamin C. It not only prevents skin damage but also helps reverse the damage in some cases. Here are some of its prime advantages.Production of CollagenVitamin C has the intrinsic ability to stimulate collagen production within the skin cells. Collagen renders firmness and tautness to the skin and as its levels begin to deplete, the skin starts developing wrinkles and fine lines. By stimulating the production of collagen, Vitamin C also helps in reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and also enhances the overall quality of the skin. Moreover, it increases the hydration levels and prevents skin dryness.Improvement in PigmentationAnother very important benefit of Vitamin C is that it treats photo damage, damage caused to the skin by excessive sun exposure. This will help even out skin tone.Defense against Free RadicalsFree radicals are formed as a result of the accumulation of pollutants, exposure to sunlight, stress, smoking and excessive alcohol consumption. Once formed, these free radicals can damage the healthy skin cells and break down the collagen fibers. This accelerates premature aging of the skin and may even have severe consequences like skin cancer. Vitamin C fights against the free radicals and prevents any damage caused by them. However, as ironic as it may sound, Vitamin C can also produce free radicals. When Vitamin C based skin care products come in contact with heat or sunlight, the consistency of the product changes and can lead to the formation of free radicals. This is why Vitamin C is often combined with other antioxidants like vitamin E to negate this effect..Different Forms of Vitamin CVitamin C is available in different forms. Here are some of the most popular ones.L-Ascorbic AcidIt is perhaps the most active form of Vitamin C. L-ascorbic acid is water soluble and is highly unstable in topical skin care products. However, there are a variety of skin care formulations that use its stabilized form. This is a fat soluble form of Vitamin C that is much more stable that the former. In fact, it is also less irritating and thus better for the skin. Because it is fat soluble, it protects the skin better against free radicals and stimulates the renewal of Vitamin E.Sources of Vitamin CVitamin C can be taken orally as well as applied topically. However, oral intake of Vitamin C is eventually flushed out by the body. So, it is important you apply it topically as well.Oral SourcesVitamin C can be taken as oral supplements. Moreover, citrus fruits like oranges, lemons, grapefruits, broccoli, tomatoes, berries etc are very rich sources of it.Topical SourcesThere are a variety of skin care products available in the market that contain Vitamin C. However, be careful while making a purchase. Here are some tips.Buy skin care products that have more than 10 per cent concentration of Vitamin C. Look for ingredients like L-ascorbic acid and Ascorbyl palmitate.Check the expiration date and packaging details. The product should come in an air tight brown glass jar or metal tube.Store the product in a cool dark place and replace the lid or cap tightly after use.Dispose the product if it becomes yellow or brown in color.Product Suggestions:iS Clinical Pro-Heal SerumIt is a revolutionary skin care formulation comprises of 15% Vitamin C, 1% Vitamin E and 1% retinol combined with powerful antioxidants and olive leaf extracts. It heals the skin and improves skin integrity in addition to enhancing skin texture and prevents damage by the ultraviolet radiations of sunlight. It has 0.5% of kojic acid that evens out skin pigmentation and prevents the occurrence of acne. And the zinc sulfate helps reduce inflammation.Obagi Professional C Serum 10 PercentThis is an amazing serum that contains 10 per cent Vitamin C contents that neutralizes the effect of free radicals and hence prevents any skin damage. The absolute strength of Vitamin C lends superior protection to your skin and the 10% concentration caters to dry and sensitive skin types.

The best skin care products are the ones that work wonderfully on your skin and make the skin look healthy and radiant. To have positive effects on the skin, you should take care that the products you use do not contain any harsh chemicals that would harm the skin and cause problems. It is widely debated if natural skin care products are better for the skin than those containing chemical ingredients and vice versa. While there are certain chemicals that can damage the skin and cause harm to its texture, there are still others that can actually be beneficial for the skin if used properly. Here are some ingredients that help you achieve healthy skin that glows with radiance. The next time you buy your skin care products, you will know what ingredients to look for. Vitamin E and B5 Also called D-Panthenol, Vitamin B5 is a superb moisturizer that repairs skin tissues and heals damaged skin. Even Vitamin E which is often referred to as Alpha-Tocopherol is a great antioxidant that prevents premature aging and controls the aging process by protecting the skin against environmental pollution, sun damage due to UVA/ UVB rays and poor nutrition. With regular use, it helps diminish the appearance of age spots, wrinkles, fine lines and stretch marks. Alpha Hydroxy Acids They are very useful in healing aging skin. They reduce the appearance of various aging signs such as wrinkles, fine lines and age spots. One of the most important properties of alpha hydroxy acids is that they minimize the size of skin pores thus improving the firmness of the skin making it appear younger and more vibrant. Certain skin care products that contain AHAs tend to cause mild irritation and increased sun sensitivity. Therefore, you should always use small concentrations of the products and use on alternate days. As your skin gets used to it, you can increase the concentration and start applying the product more frequently. Salicylic Acid It is a form of beta-hydroxy acid that is comparatively less irritating than the alpha hydroxy acids. One of the core benefits of salicylic acid is that it helps eliminate acne. It gently exfoliates the skin and penetrates deep inside to eliminate acne causing bacteria. On the whole, it improves the skin texture and makes it more radiant. iS Clinical Active Serum

Natural skin care products clean and nourish the skin without clogging the pores. Chemicals, dyes and other artificial ingredients in skin care and cosmetic products are irritating to the skin. Even worse, some are toxic and a few are known carcinogens. A few to avoid:
o Artificial fragrances: these are often listed only as fragrance on the label. They are irritating, especially if you have sensitive skin. Rashes, headaches or dizziness can result from artificial fragrances.

o Artificial colors: stay away from these and look for natural colorings. Artificial colors generally have a FD&C followed by the color and number. Some of these are carcinogenic and all are irritating to the skin.

o Diazolindinyl Urea is a preservative. This chemical is known to be toxic. Many people experience contact dermatitis from this and other chemical preservatives.

o Methyl Paraben and Propyl Paraben are preservatives that are used to extend the shelf life of a variety of beauty products. These very common chemicals are known to cause allergic reactions.

o Propylene Glycol is a synthetic vegetable glycerin that is known to cause allergic reactions in many people.

o Stearalkonium Chloride is found in skin creams and can cause skin irritation and allergic reactions.
Always read the labels on skin care and other beauty products. It can be difficult to decipher the labels, but gets easier over time. In general, the more chemical sounding ingredients you see on a label, the worse the product is for your skin. Look for natural ingredients in all your beauty products. Carotene is an antioxidant that is often used in cosmetics and skin care products. It is derived from red and orange plants and vegetables.
Citric Acid comes from the extracts of all citrus fruits. It is effective for neutralizing the pH of the skin. Citric acid is used in a wide variety of skin and hair care products.
Elastin is a protein that is found in human skin. Elastin softens the skin and helps retain moisture.
Evening Primrose Oil is rich in fatty acids. It is excellent for nourishing dry skin.
Grape Seed Extract is a powerful antioxidant. This ingredient can be found in many cleansers and moisturizers.
