Anti Aging Skin Care Products – Learn How to Get Bigger Results From Smaller Companies

Some of today’s anti aging skin care products contain ingredients that have been proven effective for reducing wrinkles, improving firmness and fading age spots. Others are effective for reducing bags under the eyes and fading dark circles. The nicest thing is that all of these “new” ingredients are natural and safe.

Since they are natural, you can’t really call them “new”, but you might think of them as new discoveries. Who would have thought that an antioxidant like coenzyme Q10 would reverse wrinkles? Who even thought that was possible, without plastic surgery?

When I first started hearing about these new findings, I was pretty surprised. Like most people, I knew that antioxidants could help prevent free radical damage. But, that some of them could repair damage that had already occurred came as a surprise.

Of course, the major cosmetic companies have yet to jump on the band wagon. And, since they make most of the anti aging skin care products on the market…well, we don’t have much to choose from.

The big brand names are still loaded with allergens, irritants and toxins. The use of artificial preservatives is still the rule, rather than the exception. Adding artificial fragrances is a common practice, because the companies think that everyone wants to smell nice.

Smelling nice is fine, but we have perfume and cologne for that. We don’t need added fragrances in our body lotion, facial cream or eye gel. Plant extracts have a light natural scent that are pleasant without being overpowering.

When it comes to preservatives, it is a well-known fact that natural vitamin E is just as effective as any of the allergy-causing artificial preservatives. The big companies don’t use the natural preservative in their anti aging skin care products, because it costs more.

When they do include vitamin E, they use the synthetic version. It’s like a plastic vitamin. There have never been any studies to show that synthetic vitamin E provides the same benefits associated with the naturally occurring vitamin. But, that doesn’t stop cosmetic companies, supplement manufacturers and food providers from using it.

Natural vitamin E helps prevent free radical damage that causes age spots, wrinkles and other signs of age. It is also beneficial for people with acne, psoriasis and eczema. It should be included in all anti aging skin care products.

It is found in the best ones, along with coenzyme Q10, protein, vitamins and minerals from plants and other natural sources. Extracts from wakame kelp, for example, provide calcium, sodium, potassium and many of the B-vitamins. Scientists have found that one of the unique compounds in the kelp helps protect against damaging UV rays of sunlight.

All of this information is available to the major manufacturers, but they would need to change their formulas drastically to make use of these natural ingredients. Besides that, supplies are limited. If you can’t synthesize it, it’s hard to mass produce it.

So, if you want the best anti aging skin care products, you might have to buy from a smaller company, but you’ll get bigger results.
